This week’s Collect focuses on the Inner Light within us.
The inward light is one of a group of Bible-related metaphors Quakers use to describe the distinctive way that we experience the Holy Spirit.
It takes time to locate and identify this inner light. We can locate it by turning inward.
We encourage the students of Newtown Junior School to take time to find their inner light by closing their eyes and becoming silent for a moment. A period of Silence marks the start and end of Collect. It is also frequently observed in Quaker meetings for worship.
Below is a child friendly story which students can read to explain the inner light within us all.
When you have read the story, please take some time to reflect on it and to discuss it.
