The Closing Date for our Thank you Art Competition is Sunday 31st May. Entries can be submitted here https://newtownjs-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/mdeleastar_njs_ie/EnDTn5jNsH1GqcQqOsKNNUABdOxpbu7xMfDM6Golw50bDA.
During next month, as much of the curriculum is covered, we will reduce the number of suggested tasks. Each week, there will be a reduced number of Key Tasks and we will focus on PE and fun activities. Activities will be planned for Infants to Second and Third to Sixth so that siblings may be able to work together on tasks. In line with our school calendar, school will finish at noon on Wednesday 24th June and Seesaw will no longer be active from that time.
The teachers are currently working on the end of year reports. This year, the report card will look a little different to the card usually used but will include the usual areas of comment. The reports will rely on class based assessments carried out to 12th March, 2020 and where possible, will also consider each child’s remote learning experience. Reports will be posted toward the end of June in advance of school closure. If you have any queries about the report, you can contact the office to arrange to talk to your child’s teacher.
Phase Two of the Roadmap for the Reopening of Society starts on June 8th and allows a little more freedom of movement for us. During that stage, we will pack the rest of the pupil belongings which are still in school and will be in touch again to arrange collection of these items from school.
Further information about arrangements for next year including Teacher Allocation, Book Lists and School Calendar will be made available shortly before the end of term.
As always, if you have any queries or concerns, please contact the teachers via Seesaw or contact me via email.
