2020/2021 School Year

Dear Parents and Pupils,

Last Friday, the Department of Education and Skills published guidelines regarding the return to school in September. These guidelines did not give us specific information but we understand that further guidance will issue to schools before we re-open.

In the meantime, we are planning a normal return to school. One key issue for the return to school is to ensure that all pupils are familiar with the importance of thorough and regular handwashing and use of hand sanitizer where necessary. Pupils also need to practice the recommended cough and sneeze etiquette.

Class allocations for next year are as follows:

  • 5th & 6th Class:               Mr Busher
  • 3rd and 4th Class:          Ms Macdougald
  • 1st and 2nd Class:         New appointee
  • Senior Infants:               Ms Stapleton
  • Junior Infants:                Ms Long
  • Special Education Team: Ms McSweeney, Ms Kavanagh and Job Share Partner.

Our uniform remains unchanged and details are in the School Specifics Section of the website. Please note that navy cardigans are not part of the uniform. Please ensure all items are fully labelled.

Next year’s school calendar and book lists are also available on the school website, again in the School Specifics section.  We plan to return to school on Monday 31st August, 2020.  Books can be purchased from:

Scribes, Unit 1A, Tramore Road Business Park, Tramore Rd, Waterford;

The Book Centre, 25 John Robert Square, Waterford; and

School Necessities, Riverstown Business Park, Tramore.

Once we have clear guidance on the types of activities and trips which we can offer next year, the Board of Management will review next year’s contribution.

Teachers will continue to respond to posts on Seesaw until Wednesday 24th June at 12 noon. Access to Seesaw will remain open until Friday 26th June and thereafter classes will be archived.

The school office will remain open until Wednesday 24th June at noon. Emails will be checked periodically during the summer.

We are all looking forward to returning to school next Term!

Best wishes,

Ms McSweeney

Principal
