Even though it was a gloomy, dark day, we still managed to spread the Valentines cheer around the school that morning. As soon as the gates were open, people were pouring in to buy one. There were so many people that the four of us, who originally started, had to get three helpers to help us deal with the crowd.
All the cookies were quickly sold out that morning. Each cookie cost €1 and, in the end, we raised the massive amount of €300. The proceeds will go to the Irish Heart Foundation and it felt great to be involved in something for a charitable cause. This initiative was created by our amazing Rowntree captain, Isla Smith. We owe a big thanks to Mr. Busher and Wendy for their help. Also, to the helpers who helped sell the cookies.
A huge thanks to Ms. McSweeney, our principal, for helping with the plan and set-up of the day. And a massive thank you to Aoife, our S.N.A, for baking all 300 cookies herself and for making this sale the success it turned out to be.
